with barbell training, will there be any metcons or something similar?

Nikki -

No. Barbell training will usually be comprised of one or two movements that you will do for the full hour. These days will be more individualized than MetCon's where everyone will do nearly the same thing.

That being said, those who have achieved a Basic Level may train during the evening outside of the WOD. In other words, if you train at 1700 with the Team you can stay and do a MetCon you like or missed earlier in the week at 1800.

The reason I am going back to isolated barbell training is because when we split the strength training and MetCon in one hour, there wasn't enough mental energy given to the barbell training and gains were less frequent. Strength is a key component to fitness and needs to be given at least 60 minutes of focus.

Dumb question - so is "barbell training" essentially a "heavy day" in disguise? :)
