The article below is a great one that comes just after the Paleo Challenge. In the last challenge, we experimented with Intermittent Fasting (IF). IF is the process of removing calories from your life for 24-hours. You can still drink water (which is recommended), tea, or coffee. The purpose was to test energy levels during a workout after fasting or during the day while on the fast, as well as general awareness of feeding habits. The results were good! Most of our Team reported feeling higher energy levels during the workout and having better performance. During the fast, hunger wasn't a huge issue as long as water intake was kept constant. It was a good experiment overall.
The link below points to other benefits of IF. What I like about the article is the last few paragraphs. There certainly seems to be evidence that, food being scarce, early humans would have to fast for at least 24 hours before finding plant food or animals ready to be hunted or trapped. And the last paragraph - I don't recommend binge eating but it can be a positive perspective on fasting to know that you can eat without restriction (on quantity, not quality) on the days you aren't fasting.
Fasting can help protect against brain diseases, scientists say

Hahahahaa!! I find the most random shit when I'm looking for new Paleo recipes. So...have a great laugh and maybe someone will pony up and order a bag! The most hilarious part is that the website selling these marshmallows...the guy also sells cars, construction equipment, vitamins, colon care and other odd stuff! FUNNY!! Who knew you could buy this stuff?!!!

I think I may try to do an IF once or twice a month. Not only because the increased energy level during the wod but also the amount of water I drink. The 4 times I fasted during the paleo challenge, the rest of the week I would drink more water throughout day. This week, I have returned to my old bad ways of being a camel. Consistently drinking water throughout day has always been a challenge for me. I noticed the same trend with my family...
